My Opinion on the Election

"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

Today people will wake up puzzled by the new pick for President, Barak Obama. I do not understand why people are puzzled by this outcome. The majority of American's cast their vote for this person, so why shouldn't he have won? Why is it surprising to these same people that our country is in moral decline? It has been for many years! Neither candidate would have furthered the Kingdom of Christ, so why all the fuss? Neither candidate promised to use his Presidential status to win souls for Christ, so why are people freaked out? Isn't that the ultimate goal of a person who claims to be a Christian? They are saying that they are guided by scripture (in context) and that their ultimate goal is to forward the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Both candidates claim to be Christians, yet their "walk" proves otherwise, and we are all stunned? Makes absolutely no sense! Where in scripture are we told or even promised that if we elect God fearing men into office that our nation will change? No one can show chapter and verse for that. The only way to change a nation is from the inside out. The only way to change a nation into a nation who fears God Almighty is to rear children who fear God and follow His commands. Our nation has failed miserably in this regard. Mother's are not at home caring for their children and teaching them God's ways. Father's are not taking the "Head of the household" role seriously, nor are they rearing their children to fear and obey God. So, why again are we all confused by the current condition of our country?

The Christian divorce rate is right on par with the secular divorce rate, because people think "I am not happy" justifies breaking the bonds of marriage. Feminism has not only crept into society and taken hold, it has also become to new fad within the Church. Women pastors are all the rave now. The Bible specifically says that women CANNOT be pastors, yet we have some liberal movements within the church that allow this atrocity! We also have Christian Churches that allow homosexual pastors. Why again are we all appalled by the state of our nation?

Morals are relative, even for people who call themselves Christian. There are no absolute truths; at least that is what we have allowed the government run public school system to teach our children. We have a nation full of "Christians" who separate their faith from their politics. We have a nation where Christians are giving into pop psychology, instead of just simply obeying God's Word! People want to have a little bit of Jesus and then a little bit of the world. And we wonder why our nation is in the condition it is. America has NOT been a Christian nation for some time now. The Christians of this nation keep compromising Biblical Truths for what is politically correct. We have a nation who would rather choose the lesser of two evils instead of picking a man who stands firm on Biblical principles and voting for him.

Neither candidate will ever make this nation a "Christian" one. Neither candidate is governed by scripture so neither one will do any good for Christians! We need to realize that. At least Barak Obama is honest about his Pro-Abortion position. John McCain has said time and time again that life begins at conception, yet he is willing to use our tax dollars to fund the destruction of embryos for research. Why are Christians compromising on this very important issue of life? Saying that he is the lesser of two evils is hog wash and a cop-out! Why are Christians compromising? The blood of the innocent is already on our hands because the government uses our tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood. Why aren't we outraged by this? We must not care so much about the unborn if we are willing to elect a president who will only kill frozen embryos. Do we not consider those embryos to be babies too?

I am more appalled at the American Christians for compromising than I am about Barak Obama being president. God determines who will be in power in any nation, so I will not question His judgment on this issue. He did not need our votes to determine who He would appoint. This is all for HIS purposes! As Christians we need to stand fast on God's Word and fear NO man! By fearing Barak Obama and what he "might" do to our nation, is to give him more power over your lives than he could possibly have. To fear Barak Obama is give him a position he is not worthy of. The only One we should ever fear is the Lord God Almighty! He does what He wills, and we should trust Him no matter what.

Sitting around pouting and being all flabbergasted at the "logical" outcome of this election is not going to do anything for our nation. Praying for the man who was fairly elected is what God COMMANDS us to do, and we should do that with a cheerful heart. If you are sitting there wishing that Obama will fail miserably just to justify your own hatred of the man, then I pity you and I fear for you as well. Harboring bitterness and hatred for ANYONE is a sin, and those who are doing that at this hour need to REPENT!

Daniel 2:21 "And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings:…"

Psalm 75:7 "But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."

Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."

Daniel 4:35 "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?"

Hi Crystal, I so enjoyed watching your video blog. All I can say is "amen!!" Our goal always should be to be about the work of sharing the gospel and living in it.

You have SO echoed everything I've been thinking and saying over the last several months--especially since I've been married.

It's like we're reading the same book or something...

:o)

Amen! I agree with you wholeheartedly! The video was great, hearing you speak was like listening to myself (and not because of the voice, lol!). ;-) Well done.

Crystal, I have followed your blog for quite some time and this is the first time I am commenting!
I LOVED your video! I have been distressed at reading other christian blogs concerning Obamas election. You are right. God appointed this president and he will be in office for a reason. You are also right about neither side being particulary Christian. I am not Democrat or Republican but voted for Obama for his family values. It was just what my heart told me to do....that is all we can do is follow our hearts....
