Newest Item
A photographer ordered this and it turned out so stinking cute! This was crocheted in cream and brown for a more gender neutral photo prop. I'm going to be making a pink and brown one soon too for a little girl.

Serving God and Family Baby Boutique
I have had an Etsy shop opened since 2009 with little items I crochet or sew, and it has been such a blessing these past couple of years to earn a little bit of extra income. From the moment that Malachi and I married we both knew I would never "go to work" as our belief is that when the Bible says be a "keeper at home" it means be a "keeper at home" (Titus 2:5). However, the idea of being a "keeper at home" doesn't forbid me from being industrious or creating a home-based business that blesses my family (Proverbs 31). For the first couple of years of our marriage I was just trying to find my niche, and I am thankful to those who have come along side me and encouraged me to sell the items that I crochet or sew (I think I give away more than sell!).
I learned about Etsy back in 2009 and decided to give it a try and I am so thankful I did! I have connected with other home-based businesses and been able to network in a way that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Over time after creating an account on facebook I decided to start a page for my Etsy shop, and now with all of the new features that facebook offers you can now link to my Etsy shop to order an item! It is the neatest thing! So many people have recommended my business to others, and through so many people's efforts my fan base is increasing.
People have asked where do I find the time to run a home-based business, manage a home, care for my family, finish my degree AND sleep, and my answer is...VERY carefully! This is such a blessing to our family because not only does it bring in a little extra from time to time, it is creating a business that my children can become apart of as they get older. Sofia is showing such an interest in learning to crochet and sew clothes. It is so sweet to think that I will be teaching her a life skill that will actually benefit her and her family in the future; whether it is being used as I am using or simply a means to make clothing for her own family. Either way it is an invaluable skill to know how to make clothing and other household items.
So, if you are interested in keeping up with what is going on with my business, head over to facebook and check out the Serving God and Family Baby Boutique page! I will be hosting frequent giveaways for coupons and free items. Any support that you give to my home-based business will be much appreciated and used for the glory of the Lord. In all that I do; whether it is changing diapers, rocking a baby in the middle of the night, preparing healthy wholesome foods for my family and others, opening my home to visitors, sewing clothes for my family and friends, writing research articles, or blogging, it is all done for the glory of the Lord!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Prayer Request
A few days ago it was brought to my attention that a pregnant mother of two had become widowed back in November. As I am sure would be the same for most, this just broke my heart. I sit here today possibly 6 weeks out from having our third child, and I couldn’t even begin to imagine what life would be like without my sweet husband. I would like to ask that everyone check out this young mother’s circumstances and then prayerfully consider giving to this sweet family. You can read her story HERE. I would like to say a special thank you to Nikki over at Pennies on a Platter for raising awareness about this newly widowed pregnant mother and also taking steps to come to her aid.
In honor of the King family, for the next two weeks (4 Jan – 18 Jan) I will be donating any earnings I make from my Serving God and Family Etsy Shop to this family. If you would prefer to donate directly to the King family you can do so at Pennies on a Platter by clicking on the PayPal button on the top left side of Nikki’s page.
I ask that everyone remember the King family in their prayers, and thank you all in advance for any help you can provide to this sweet family. Soli Deo Gloria!
