Good Morning!
Yesterday was a very busy day for this pregnant momma of a 19 month old. I kept the car and brought Malachi to work at 9am and then picked up a movie from Lifeway for Sofia and then headed over to the Maternity Store to buy a new shirt. I didn't actually walk back through the front door until 11:15am. Sofia had fallen asleep in her car seat by that time. I prayed that she would finish out her nap once I put her down on her little couch bed in the living room...no such luck! She perked right up and wanted to watch her new movie. I bought her a BOZ movie, and I must say it is just so cute. It is a Christian children's learning video that teaches them colors and shapes as well as incorporating lessons about the Lord. Very cool!
By this time I realized that I could download Malachi's W-2 from the Internet, and so I did. Then I called my mother and she walked me through the IRS website to download and print the forms to do our taxes. This will be the first year “we” will be preparing our own taxes. I then noticed I was running late for the Ladies Bible study at our church. I needed to be there AT 1pm, but actually didn't walk in the door until about 1:15pm. If any of you know me personally, you will know that I loath being late for anything. Now my mom on the other hand is almost always late. In fact she jokes about being late for her own funeral! I think I learned my love of being on time from my time spent serving in the Air Force. We were told that if we weren't at our appointed place at least 15 minutes early, then we were late! I still have that same mentality about being on time.
However, the Ladies Bible study was just what I needed. The Pastor and his daughter kept watch over my little Sofia and another little baby Sofia's age. We are studying through the book of 1 Peter. Yesterday was my first day actually attending the Bible study, so we were on Chapter 2 already. I love that Jesus is described as the “Chief Cornerstone”. Makes so much sense. We are to measure our lives off of Jesus. When we do this our “spiritual house” will be perfectly aligned and not crooked. I highly recommend reading 1 Peter 2: 4-12.
Now on to our 3rd day of encouraging and praying for our husbands! How is everyone doing so far? I have been so busy that my focus hasn't been what it should be. Today I pray the Lord will keep my focus and attention on HIM so that I can better pray for my husband and encourage and lift Him up through this month!
30-DAY HUSBAND ENCOURAGEMENT CHALLENGE
Day 3
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19
Love indeed suffers long and is kind. As you consider your Encouragement Challenge, determine today that you will not say anything negative to or about your husband. Speak kindly to him with words of genuine encouragement.
If your husband is considerate of your needs, let him know that you have noticed. Thank him for his kindness and consideration. Thank the Lord that your husband knows how to be both tough and tender.
Sometimes it's difficult for a man to be gentle, kind or tender—especially if he hasn't had role models in these areas. If he's not a considerate person, appeal to him for help without complaining. Let him know that it's hard for you to handle some things alone. Then, when he moves in to help, don't insist that he do it your way. Be glad that he is responding, and express your gratitude.
Ultimately, you can't expect your husband to make you feel more secure, loved, etc.
Remember that only God can meet the deepest needs of your heart.

Day 3
Pray that your husband will be humble and quick to agree with God about his sin. Pray that his heart will be tender toward the voice of the Lord. (Ps. 51:2-4; Micah 6:8)
